Fall on the South Shore is beautiful and dramatic – sun, wind, fog, rain, and wind, all often in the same day! With the changing seasons, we need to consider our homes and how to keep them cozy and protected. Some things to consider:
- Keep our critter friends from entering and making our homes their cozy winter retreat. Check for mouse droppings along the edges of basement floors and under kitchen sinks.
- Schedule inspections and cleanings of the furnace/fireplace/wood stove.
- Change the batteries in smoke and CO2 detectors.
- Rake and mulch fallen leaves, prune plants. Clean and put away garden equipment.
- Remove garden hoses and turn off water to outside taps.
- Clean out rain gutters.
Taking care now will help avoid annoying problems in the middle of a cold winter weekend!
There are many lovely days to come – so enjoy the beauty of the Fall colours, and for now, try not to think of the snow to come!
